Known as Rab ,he was a joiner the same as his father Jimmy Alston ,he loved working with wood , he'd do odd jobs for his brothers and sisters ,fitting kitckens or hanging new doors ,when he was'nt doing that , he be messing around on his car ,fixing it or polishing it up , he loved cars and motor bikes , he was a very carefree happy guy ,took everything in his stride , then early one morning ,before he left for work,in an unprovoked attack ,he was badly beating by four guys right outside his front door ,he was left for dead , he was rushed to hospital and after a couple of major operations on his head,and about 6 months later , Robert ,did recover ,but not 100% ,he was never really the same after this ,then on 17th May 2002 ,a few days after the aniversary of his dads death ,and feeling depressed about his own life ,he drove up to the hills in Scotland ,where our dad took us both as kids ,and took his own life .........He left behind his son Stuart who was 7 at the time ,his 3 brothers and 2 sisters and his mum , theres no words to say how we feel ,he was only 33 ,but he wanted to be with his dad .His ashes were scattered in Loch Lomond ,a perfect place to rest .
So i hope your happy up there with dad, looking down on us ,one day we'll all be together as a family again once more, so R.I.P. little brother .
